Dog friendly cottage, Salisbury, Wiltshire

HayLoft is a lovely, dog-friendly cottage near Salisbury, Wiltshire, set within the New Forest National Park boundary and offering off-road parking, plus views across the forest beyond, well-suited to families or large groups of friends on a nature getaway. Arrive and slip straight into holiday mode, stepping into an open-plan living space made for together time, where underfloor heating keeps things welcoming, and the layout flows easily from kitchen to dining to the sitting area. Start the day with coffee and an unhurried breakfast, then gather back later for shared meals around the large dining table, swapping plans and stories as something tasty comes together in the well-equipped kitchen.

When the weather invites slower evenings in, light the woodburning stove and settle on the sofa with a film on the Smart TV, letting the room glow as conversation drifts on. Upstairs, two family bedrooms bring flexible sleeping for groups, each pairing a king-size bed with a single, ideal for mixed ages or friends sharing. A bathroom with a bath and shower over offers an easy choice between a quick rinse and a longer soak, while the additional shower room with a walk-in shower keeps mornings flowing smoothly when everyone is keen to get out.

Step outside, and the enclosed patio becomes your own outdoor corner, ready for morning drinks in the fresh air or a barbecue supper as the day winds down, with space for two well-behaved dogs to tag along on the adventure. For exploring, Salisbury makes a rewarding day out, with Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum, and The Salisbury Museum offering plenty to fill an itinerary. In Lyndhurst, discover the New Forest Heritage Centre, stretch your legs to Bolton’s Bench, and dip into local history at the Verderers’ Hall.

Beaulieu adds another excellent option, with the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu Abbey, and Palace House all set for an easy-going family day. However you shape your break, HayLoft sets the scene for forest walks, shared meals, and memorable days out. Note: This property can be booked with refs.
