Situated within the northern reaches of the New Forest, this charming cottage sleeps eight over four bedrooms and is an idyllic choice for large families keen to discover the windswept wilderness of this stunning national park. Take to the nearby trails on foot or by bike, greeting the resident wild ponies and donkeys as you navigate the varied terrain with a picnic in tow. Your homely accommodation boasts panoramic views of your surroundings and is a sheer treat for stargazing, so grab a blanket and a glass of wine and relax in style.

The red brick exterior is straight out of a storybook complete with climbing wisteria and roses, and inside is a comfortable haven characterised by vaulted beamed ceilings, roaring wood burners and traditional limestone flooring. Sink into the comfortable sofas in the lounge, warming your toes in the glow of the wood burner. The paddock garden can be seen through the double patio doors, so why not throw them open for an al fresco vibe.

Mealtimes are a delight thanks to the spacious dining room complete with a handcrafted table with enough seating for your entire party, and the impressive kitchen has everything you could possibly need to whip up a feast. At bedtime, two ground floor bedrooms provide a quiet retreat for a restful night’s sleep including a pretty twin with its own miniature library and a fabulous room with a euro-king-size bed. Both have easy access to the elegant shower room, but stairs leading from the dining room reveal the first floor with its sleek bathroom.

The two remaining bedrooms are also on this level; a child-friendly bunk bedroom and a spacious room with a super-king-size bed. Venturing outside will reward you with several different areas for relaxing and play, whether you opt for the gorgeous, enclosed garden, the delightful paddock or the patio. Gated off-road parking is available for three cars.
