Pet friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 8 - Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Surrounded by pretty countryside, this beautiful cottage has lots of space for eight guests (plus two furry ones), with an amazing open-plan living space, two en-suite ground-floor bedrooms, and an incredible garden. Perfect for a multi-generational family holiday, it's close to pretty walks, the coast, and local attractions. The cottage has light, airy rooms, quality interiors, and gorgeous wooden features.

Go into the hall through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has high ceilings and exposed oak beams, comfy sofas, a cosy wood burner, and a Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped if you want to eat in, there's a dining table and chairs for eight, and a utility room for doing laundry. Two of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor: two super-king-size zip-and-link rooms – one has an en-suite wet room, the other an en-suite shower room.

The other two bedrooms are upstairs, a twin, and a super-king-size zip-and-link with an en-suite shower room, along with the family bathroom. Head outside through the patio doors to the enclosed garden with a large lawn area where the kids and canines can play. There's a large patio with a BBQ and seating area for drinks and dining, and a funky stargazing pod, and you can wander around the rose garden and picnic in the enclosed orchard.

Go for walks from the bottom of the drive to Sawdon Beck (2 miles) and Raptor Viewpoint (1.5 miles), and explore the local forest trails and lanes, and rugged North York Moors. Cycle the Moor to Sea cycle network nearby, and head to the coastal towns of Scarborough (10.5 miles), Filey (16 miles) and Whitby (21.5 miles). Wander around Sewerby Hall and Gardens (26.5 miles) and take the kids to Flamingo Land Resort theme park and zoo (17 miles) and North Yorkshire Water Park (7.5 miles).
