You'll also be within 20 miles of the coast, where you'll find seaside resorts such as Whitby and Staithes.

In the evenings, pour a glass of wine and admire your tranquil surroundings from your private terrace. The Grade II-listed bolthole has a rustic, country-cottage style, with neutral decor and beautiful natural materials. The main living area is a bright, open-plan space enjoying far-reaching rural views.

Unwind here after a long countryside walk, preparing meals using local ingredients and sharing dinners at the cute table or outside on the terrace. After dinner, snuggle up on the sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV. When it's time for bed, climb the ladder to the fabulous, hand-crafted oak bed.

Alternatively, spend a relaxing afternoon pottering around the ancient market town of Pickering (21 miles), with its historic buildings and olde-worlde charm.
