A beautiful cottage in a stunning location, this idyllic property in Castleton makes the perfect base for a romantic break (with your four-legged companion in tow). The cosy retreat has everything you need for a comfy stay, with a wood burner, an enclosed patio, and a big lawn. It's close to Whitby, Pickering, and lovely beaches, and is perfect for exploring the North York Moors.

The homely cottage has bags of charm and character, with wooden features, cosy rooms and all the creature comforts you could need. Step into the inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a comfy sofa, a Smart TV, and a wood burner to snuggle around. The kitchen area is well-equipped if you want to eat in and there's a quirky dining table and chairs for enjoying your creations.

Head up the spiral staircase to the king-size bedroom, with good storage in the wardrobe and chest of drawers, a Smart TV, and a gorgeous en-suite shower room. Go outside through the French doors in the living area to the fenced south-facing decked area with dining furniture, a parasol, and a charcoal BBQ for fun evenings alfresco. The pup can sniff out the large lawn while you take in the amazing views.

Wander to the shop, tearoom, and pubs in the village, and explore Esk Dale on scenic footpaths and cycle routes. Hop on the train from Castleton Moor to Whitby to explore the cobbled streets and gothic Abbey (17.5 miles). Visit the castle at Pickering (21.5 miles), and Castle Howard (25.5 miles), and head to Dalby Forest where there are miles of thrilling bike trails (30 miles).

Go walking in the North York Moors, and fossil hunting on Sandsend Beach (13.5 miles), Staithes Beach (11 miles) and Runswick Bay (11.5 miles).
