Wake up to breathtaking views across woodland to the beautiful River Wye below from this delightful, quaint cottage. Spacious and characterful, the property is peacefully located high above the valley in the village of Symonds Yat West. With four bedrooms sleeping eight guests, and a wealth of activities nearby to enjoy, it is perfect for a family holiday.

Up to four canine friends are welcome, too. Bright and attractively furnished, the cottage, designated as Carbon Neutral, has wonderful views across the valley from all the main windows. Enjoy the vista from comfortable seating in the airy lounge or light the wood burner and curl up in the cosy snug.

The stylish black and white kitchen has a large dining table and French doors opening onto the pretty gardens. Upstairs, you'll find a family bathroom and four inviting bedrooms: two doubles, a twin and a roomy super-king-size, which can be made up as a twin. Outside, the gardens are a lovely spot to drink in the scenery, with outdoor furniture, sun loungers and a brick BBQ.

Pubs, restaurants and a shop are just a mile away, while the intriguing Symonds Maze and beautiful Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo are within half a mile. You can cross the Wye on a foot ferry to Symonds Yat East and climb the famous 120-metre-high rock that offers even more spectacular views. Hire a canoe or kayak for family fun, take a boat cruise down the river and explore the splendid network of family walking and cycling trails in the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Dean (6 miles).
