The single-storey barn conversion has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom with an impressive, vaulted ceiling and exposed woodwork throughout. The cottage is warm and inviting, thanks to underfloor heating, and has a homely feel with artwork on the walls and cosy soft furnishings.

Share dinners for two around the wooden dining table, before snuggling up on the sofa to watch TV. Steps lead to a mezzanine floor, where you’ll find the kitchenette. When it’s time to say goodnight, sink into the sumptuous king-size bed at the far end of the room.

The picturesque towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles) make great days out, with their plethora of independent shops and eateries, not to mention stunning beaches and coastal walks. For something a bit different, hop on the steam train in Totnes to journey through the gorgeous landscape into Dartmoor National Park.
