Just a 13-mile drive away is the cute and quaint seaside town of Salcombe, in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here you can sample fresh seafood in the local eateries and pick up a souvenir from one of the numerous independent shops. Dartmoor National Park starts 4 miles from Kempthorne's front door and the National Marine Aquarium, a great day out for the kids, is 19 miles away in Plymouth.
