Dog friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 8 - Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire

Property Summary

A charming spacious stone barn with an ornamental pond. For guests who want to explore the countryside on horseback, stabling for horses is available by prior arrangement.

Situated on a working farm in the Peak District National Park, this charming barn conversion allows eight guests to immerse themselves in the rural idyll. Tucked into the rolling hills of the stunning landscape, there are walking routes on your doorstep, so why not make pre-breakfast rambles a reality. At the end of an action-packed day, you can head the 1.6 miles to the delightful town of Whaley Bridge, known as the ‘Gateway to the Goyt Valley', for a hearty pub meal and a pint of ale.

The original features and traditional farmhouse furniture within this property are constant reminders of its heritage; they also create a comfortable home to relax in. On entering, you'll find yourself in the light and spacious dining room. From here, you can head downstairs to the well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room or down to two of the bedrooms and a bathroom.

Capitalising on the views, the first-floor lounge is adjacent to the games room which kids (both big and small) will enjoy. There are two further bedrooms and a shower room on this floor. Outside, enjoy an al fresco drink or meal on the shared patio.

Outdoor enthusiasts, be prepared to fall in love with the Peak District and its wealth of walking, cycling, canoeing, climbing and caving opportunities. Castleton (9.5 miles) in the White Peak has steep dales and limestone plateaus to discover, whilst more courageous guests may prefer to venture underground into the showcaves. We all know it's important to rest as well as play, so be sure to head to nearby Chapel-en-le-Frith (3 miles), the historic ‘Capital of the Peak', where you'll discover a range of shops and eateries amongst its cobbled streets.

Thermal spa town, Buxton, (7.5 miles) is also worth a visit for its architecture and fresh spring water.
