Sitting in the market town of Helmsley, this sweet cottage makes the ideal base for a couple or small family to enjoy the Yorkshire Moors, being close to beautiful countryside, historic sites, and seaside towns. It has an enclosed garden, an inviting open-plan living space, and an allocated parking space, plus your canine companion is welcome to join you. The cottage has homely interiors made for relaxation, with comfy furniture and a laidback style.

Go inside to the welcoming lounge/kitchen/diner where there's a comfy sofa and a Smart TV for evenings in, a pretty kitchen with everything you need to self-cater and a breakfast bar and stools for eating in. Head to bed in the two gorgeous bedrooms, a king-size and a small double (for one adult or two children). There's a lovely, contemporary family bathroom on the first floor and a separate WC on the ground floor.

At the rear is a fenced garden with a patio where you can enjoy the last of the sunshine with a cool drink on the garden furniture. Wander to Helmsley Market Square to discover the cafes, shops, pubs and micro-brewery. The town is home to the tourist attractions of Helmsley Castle, the National Centre for Birds of Prey, and The Walled Gardens.

Explore the Yorkshire Moors on walking and cycling routes and visit the National Trust's Nunnington Hall (5.5 miles). York is within reach (28 miles) where you can spend the day discovering the Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre, and the Shambles. The Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole (9 miles) and Mount Grace Priory (27.5 miles) make fun days out, and Malton (16 miles) is a great spot for foodies with a brilliant range of artisanal food producers, cafes, restaurants, and shops to visit.
