For a morning coffee in the fresh air or an al fresco evening meal, head out to the decked terrace, which is enclosed but has a gate leading to the cliffs behind.

Just steps from Filey's expansive beach, the property is around 1.5 miles along the coastal path to the seaside fishing village itself. Here you'll find interesting buildings, a historic promenade and a variety of shops to explore. Take a step back in time and enjoy traditional fish and chips, ice cream and amusement arcades.

Water sports are on offer for anyone feeling adventurous, while walkers will enjoy the Cleveland Way - a long-distance trail through the moors and along the coast. Spot rare sea birds, including puffins and gannets, or perhaps go fossil hunting on Filey Brigg. If you fancy a change of scenery, head to Scarborough or Bridlington (both within 10 miles).
