The lounge and drawing rooms each offer comfortable seating, ornate furnishings, feature fireplaces and wood burners, the snug features a TV and DVD for home-style movie nights and the reading room offers a peaceful space to get away from it all. Flanked by the rivers of Cain and Abel, Llanfyllin is an ideal base for adventures in North Powys, Southern Snowdonia and at Lake Vyrnwy (12 miles) where a range of outdoor activities are on offer.

A similar distance away, Welshpool is home to the Montgomery Canal and historic Powis Castle and Garden. In high season, the narrow-gauge Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway runs 16 miles up some of the steepest gradients in Britain.
