Property Summary

A detached property with a homely feel; enjoy your favourite creature comforts, a private garden and endless scenery. Explore the heritage, culture and countryside in Mid Wales and its borders.

Enjoy a countryside retreat at this cosy, family-friendly property which is set on a 14-acre small holding. It's bursting with charm, from the lovely wood burner to the spiral staircase and pretty porches, this cottage is a wonderful place for a restful and relaxing getaway. Ideally located on the England/Wales border near the market town of Presteigne, you'll be able to enjoy a wealth of local walking routes, as well as the bustling market and independent shops in the town which offer something for all ages.

Upon entering, make for the living room and you'll be able to unwind on the sumptuous sofas in the bright and airy room warmed by an electric fire. Bursting with charm, the kitchen/diner is a fantastic place to socialise with dramatic exposed beams and high ceilings. Two charming armchairs placed around the wood burner make for a perfect spot to get lost in a good book straight from the shelf, or sit and catch up with a loved one.

Meanwhile, the kitchen has a country style with everything you could need to fix up an indulgent family meal to be enjoyed at the dinner table. A spiral staircase leads you to the first floor where both of the bedrooms lie. Bedroom one has a king-size bed set beneath a vaulted ceiling and is full of character, whilst bedroom two is a pretty twin bedroom which can be made up as a king upon request.

From the living room, you can access the patio garden which features an area of lawn for garden games, a patio for al fresco dining and a selection of seating where you can sit and take in the picturesque views. Head North to Knighton (7 miles) and you'll find a gateway to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for walks beside the River Teme or through whimsical woodlands such as Hopton Woods (16 miles). Those with an interest in history may wish to visit Ludlow Castle (19 miles), or the National Trust's Croft Castle (11 miles) for a fascinating day out taking a look at what life in the local area was once like.
