Dog friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 6 - Porthgain (3mls NW), Wales

Property Summary

A detached traditional Welsh longhouse dating back 300 years, set in a peaceful rural location adjacent to the village chapel. Close to the coast and Pembrokeshire's golden, sandy beaches.

This traditionally styled house is bursting with character, having retained much of its original charm including exposed beams, a wood burner and a relaxing roll-top bath. Ideally suited to families or friends travelling together, you'll have plenty of space to socialise with loved ones, or take some time out for yourself and sink into one of the comfortable sofas during your stay. Those in search of adventure will have the opportunity to join a stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path to soak in the scenery from Abercastle, just 2 miles away.

At the heart of the home is the warm and welcoming living room, furnished with leather sofas beside an impressive wood burner which kicks out plenty of warmth in the winter months. Next door, the kitchen/diner is filled with interesting features, from the eight-seater antique dining table to the exposed beams overhead. Here, you can cook and dine with your loved ones during your stay whilst soaking up the views of the garden and surrounding farmland.

Upstairs, there are three tastefully styled bedrooms looking out towards the sea or countryside, starting with the master which features a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. The second room also features a king-size bed, whilst the final room has a zip-and-link king-size bed which can be made up as a twin upon request. Finally, the bathroom completes the layout with a comfortable roll-top bath, perfect for long evening soaks.

Porthgain (4 miles) is a beautiful yet quiet place to visit to wander along the harbour and enjoy a bite to eat. For a day out, Britain's smallest city St Davids (8 miles) is a must-visit to see its impressive cathedral and Oriel y Parc Gallery. What's more, you'll even have the opportunity to hop aboard one of the unique boat trips which take you around some of the wild offshore islands including Ramsey and Skomer where you may be lucky enough to see puffins, dolphins or whales.
