Dog friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 4 - Llanidloes, Wales

Set amongst the luscious landscape of mid-Wales, this riverside cottage provides a welcoming and practical base for families of four who want to explore the picturesque surroundings. Bring up to four dogs along for the trip, and enjoy the characterful interior, and superb outdoor space at this homely property. Set over a single-storey within a stone-built cottage, this lovely home oozes charm and tastefully retains many of its traditional features such as exposed beams and walls.

Hang up your coats and place your walking boots in the hallway before heading through to the pleasant living space. Here, you will find the practical kitchen and a dining table set in front of a window which looks out over the surrounding landscape. Through the oak archway is the cosy lounge which has plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner to keep all toes and paws toasty.

Get stuck into one of the books provided in the library corner and take some time out on the comfortable armchair. The bedrooms comprise a characterful king-size (can be made into a twin on request at time of booking) and a bunk bedroom, both of which boast lovely views of the babbling river. Completing the interior is a contemporary shower room.

Outside, you can enjoy the sounds of the river and the wildlife from the enclosed garden. Soak up the sun on the loungers, cook on the BBQ and dine alfresco on the patio furniture. Private parking is available for two cars.

The small but lively market town of Llanidloes (1 mile), is renowned for being the ‘Gateway to the Cambrian Mountains'. Spend a day perusing the shops and grabbing a bite to eat at one of the pubs or cafes. Discover the wide range of walking routes that wind through the mountains.

Take a stroll along the magnificent Cambrian Way, which stretches from Cardiff to Conwy. Visit the interesting Bryntail Lead Mine Buildings (4 miles) on the edge of Clywedog Reservoir and Dam.
