This romantic retreat is set on the edge of the attractive town of Kidwelly, and is just 2 miles from the coast. The cottage backs onto picturesque country footpaths, offering fantastic walking opportunities. You’ll also be within easy reach of the Wales Coast Path and the Millennium Coastal Path.

Nearby days out include the pretty fishing village of Ferryside (3.5 miles) and the National Botanic Garden of Wales (17 miles). The pretty cottage sits on a complex with one other holiday home and is full of period charm, including exposed beams and whitewashed stone walls. The lounge/diner has a cute, country-cottage vibe, with traditional furniture and delicate soft furnishings.

Unwind here, after a countryside walk, sharing a romantic meal at the wooden dining table or snuggling up to watch TV in the glow of the wood burner-effect electric fire. Kidwelly is a thriving town, with plenty to see and do. History enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the magnificent Norman castle perched on the hill, and art lovers can potter around the galleries showcasing local talent. The town is home to Wales’s oldest canal, offering tranquil walks along its towpath, and for a spot of retail therapy head to the open-air markets in the town square.

For a day at the beach, head to Pembrey Country Park (5 miles), with its 8-mile stretch of golden sand.
