Unwind in the main lounge after a long walk, toasting your toes by the wood burner and playing games from the selection provided.

Alternatively, snuggle up in the second lounge with a book or film on the TV. The classic, 1950's kitchen is equipped with everything needed to rustle up tasty family meals, to share together in the adjoining breakfast room. Upstairs you'll find two double bedrooms and a family room, along with the family bathroom.

An enclosed cottage garden awaits outside, full of colourful flowers and a patio area for outdoor entertaining. There's also an unenclosed lawn across the lane, where four-pawed pals can burn off steam. The vibrant market town of Brecon has a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries.

After a hearty meal, take a stroll along the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or set off along the Taff Trail, which starts in the town. For a more exhilarating challenge, why not take on Pen-y-Fan (14 miles), the highest point in southern Britain? Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to Llangorse Lake (5 miles), where you take try your hand at rowing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding.
