Nearby, you have easy access to the rest of the stunning Northumberland coastline, including Seahouses harbour, village and beach only a short drive way (or a lovely walk along the coastal path), visit the Farne Islands by boat to see the puffins and seals at various times of the year and Bamburgh Castle, with its stunning beach and pretty village with excellent restaurants. You can also drive across the causeway to Holy Island and see the historic Lindisfarne Priory and of course, sample some Lindisfarne Mead while you are there. You can drive inland to visit the famous Alnwick Castle featured in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter films, not to mention the award-winning Alnwick Gardens, the Tree House restaurant, the market town itself and the must visit Barter Books.
