Dog friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 4 - Osmotherley, North Yorkshire

Sitting among pretty countryside on a working farm, this stone cottage is perfect for a trip with your friends, family and four-legged pals spent exploring the North York Moors. Osmotherley village is nearby, where there are three pubs, and the Cleveland Way walking route passes through it. The cottage has a wood burner, a patio with a BBQ/fire pit, and an enclosed grass area for the canines.

Inside, you'll find traditional features combined with contemporary styling to make a welcoming home from home. Go into the spacious kitchen/diner with a cottage-style table and chairs and everything you need to cook tasty meals. Go up the steps to the hall and down three steps into the gorgeous lounge where the wall of windows lets in light and views there's a wood burner and Smart TV.

The contemporary shower room and bathroom are also on the ground floor and the two bedrooms are up the oak staircase, a pretty double room, and a super-king-size zip-and-link, both with gorgeous wooden furniture. The outside space is private and peaceful; a stone patio surrounded by pretty countryside with a fire pit and seating, and a large, enclosed grassed area for the pups to run around. Head out for walks along the picturesque Lyke Wake Walk, a 40-mile route across the moors to the coastal village of Ravenscar.

Pick up the Cleveland Way in Osmotherley and Wainwright's famous coast-to-coast walk which passes close by. Explore the ruins of the impressive Rievaulx Abbey (14 miles) and the well-preserved 13th-century Mount Grace Priory (4.5 miles). Pop into market town Northallerton (7 miles) to do some shopping or go out for coffee and take the kids to Lightwater Valley Theme Park (25 miles) for an exciting day out.
