Relax in the sun-trap garden and watch the nearby wildlife from this pretty flint cottage, which is beautifully decorated and provided with all mod cons. Couples or small families will love its rural location, a mile from the beach and a great base for exploring Norfolk's bustling coastal towns. Open the front door of this delightful getaway and step straight down into its elegant lounge/diner.

This light and pretty space boasts smooth, white walls contrasted with the texture of exposed brick, and is centred around a cosy wood burner. Comfortable seating and a Smart TV mean you won't be short of entertainment if you're spending an evening in, and there's a table at the far end for sociable meals. The galley-style kitchen is a chic space with a Belfast sink and all mod cons for cooking and cleaning up, including a microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine.

The sleek family bathroom is on this floor, too. When you're feeling tired, take the cottage-style stairs up to the first floor, where two bedrooms await: a king-size, with a chest of drawers and hanging rail, and a twin that has views of the garden. Outdoors, you'll have a small, shingled patio with a dining set, a lovely spot in which to sip a sundowner or enjoy a meal alfresco.

There's also a long, enclosed area of grass which is perfect for energetic children or a canine companion. The village of Titchwell is probably best known as the home of RSPB Titchwell, the renowned reserve which includes reed beds, salt marshes and a freshwater lagoon as well as a beach, woodland and two nature trails. There are two hotels with excellent restaurants in the village, too.

The Victorian seaside resort of Hunstanton is only 6 miles away, while Wells-next-the-Sea is just 10.5 miles.
