Up to four guests can enjoy a relaxing self-catering getaway with local village amenities on the doorstep. Step inside to find a traditional cottage-style lounge/kitchen/diner with a wooden-beamed ceiling and red, white and wooden furnishings throughout.

The wood burner in an inglenook fireplace keeps the space warm while you relax on the sofa or armchair in front of the TV. Beside the window is a wooden dining table with four chairs. Around the corner, you’ll find a contemporary and bright galley-style kitchen with white cabinets and dark countertops.

Also on the ground floor is a shower room with a walk-in shower. Climb the cottage-style stairs to reach two bedrooms – a king-size with nature views and a twin room. Outside is a small, enclosed garden with a lawn and patio with furniture, surrounded by shrubs and trees.

During your stay in the sleepy village of Syderstone, you could start your day with a walk around the Syderstone Common nature reserve (1 mile). Step back in time with a trip to the dramatic Creake Abbey ruins (9 miles) and continue north to reach the Norfolk Coast National Landscape (6 miles). Here you can explore the Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve (10 miles) or follow the coastal path from Burnham Overy Staithe (10 miles).

Spend a day at the 25,000-acre Holkham Estate (13.5 miles) – home to a boating lake, deer park and stately home. At low season you can take Fido to Holkham Beach (13.5 miles) or Wells-next-the-Sea Beach (16 miles) is canine-welcoming all year round.
