Set in rural Hereford with country-style interiors and characterful wooden beamed ceilings, this charming converted barn is perfect for a classic countryside getaway for a family or a group of up to six guests, plus three canine companions. The private terrace and open-plan living space with a mix of contemporary and rustic features create an elegant and sociable space for entertaining guests. Spend your holiday exploring the two national parks, quaint market towns and historical attractions nearby.

Step through the hallway into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is flooded with natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors. The space has a vaulted wooden beamed ceiling, exposed stone feature walls and wooden furnishings throughout. On one side of the rectangular room is a cosy lounge with grey and patterned soft furnishings.

Move past the dining area with chic decor and a long wooden table into the sleek kitchen. Rustic hanging lights illuminate the grey, galley-style kitchen with a breakfast bar on the island. Also on the ground floor is an en-suite king-size bedroom.

Climb the stairs to reach a shower room plus three king-size bedrooms, with one boasting it's own en-suite. Outside, you’ll find a terrace with garden furniture. Explore the walking trails through the working fruit farm on which the property is located before wandering into the centre of Pencombe village (1.5 miles), which is home to a dog-friendly pub.

Visit the castle and dine out in the market town of Ludlow (21.5 miles). Set off on an adventure in the Malvern Hills National Landscape or Wye Valley National Landscape (both 12 miles). Take a picnic to Bodenham Lake (5.5 miles), which is close to Hampton Court Castle (6 miles).

If you’ve got little ones with you, they’ll love the Queenswood Country Park Gruffalo Trail (7.5 miles).
