Gather together in the open-plan living space of this superb detached house, which is beautifully decorated and full of natural light.

The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped for preparing special meals, and the dining table at the window takes advantage of the views over the Dyfi Estuary and Cardigan Bay. After a celebratory supper, head over to the lounge, where sofas are snuggled around a Smart TV and wood burner. Three of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor: a super-king-size with a Smart TV and en-suite shower, a family room with a double and a single bed and a Smart TV, and a cute twin room.

A gorgeous bathroom completes the ground floor. Head upstairs and the children can enjoy a snug area on the landing with bean bags and a Smart TV. The piece de resistance is the king-size bedroom with its en-suite shower and a seating area with extraordinary sea vistas.

Outside, get busy doing nothing on the sun loungers, fire up the BBQ and dine al fresco on the patio, or soak in the bubbling hot tub. Aberdyfi's beautiful beach is its biggest draw – 4 miles of perfect sand backed by dunes, offering water sports, sailing and swimming – plus there are boat trips from the harbour for fishing, wildlife-spotting and beautiful views. The renowned links course is a must for golfers, and there are plenty of shops and places to eat in town.

Head inland to climb the celebrated peaks of Cader Idris, 16 miles.
