Ideally placed for touring Dorset and Somerset, visit the beautiful beaches at Lyme Regis (29.5 miles) and Charmouth (27 miles) or spend an afternoon exploring the historic Sherborne Abbey (8.5 miles).

Inside, this traditional cottage is rustic yet homely. Cook and dine beside the large inglenook fireplace with a wood burner in the kitchen/diner, with a useful pantry for extra storage. Afterwards, retire to the lounge to relax and unwind in front of the TV/DVD while the open fire roars away.

Cottage-style stairs lead to the two double bedrooms and cosy bunk bedroom on the first floor. Outside, a large enclosed lawn garden is ideal for dogs and children, while the shepherd's hut in the orchard beyond with a wood burner and double bunk bed is the perfect spot to cosy up when the cool evening air draws in. In a peaceful countryside location surrounded by fields, footpaths and cycle routes, this is the perfect rural retreat.

Once you have finished exploring the Dorset Downs, visit the local attractions of Sherborne Abbey, Ham Hill (17.5 miles) and the Cerne Abbas Giant (5 miles). Take to the coast with a trip to West Bay (20.5 miles) or the beautiful beaches at Lyme Regis, Charmouth or Chesil (22 miles). Or enjoy some retail therapy or a meal out in Bridport (19 miles), Yeovil (13 miles) or Crewkerne (16.5 miles).
