Ferndown makes a fabulous base for exploring the stunning coast and beautiful countryside of Dorset. The bustling seaside town of Bournemouth (8.5 miles) is known for its sandy beaches, breathtaking chines and traditional pier, as well as a fantastic choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Also within easy reach are the pretty coastal towns of Poole (10 miles), Christchurch and Boscombe (both 8.5 miles).

Heading inland, attractions and landmarks include Kingston Lacy (7 miles), Avon Heath Country Park (4 miles) and the eastern edge of the New Forest National Park (7 miles).
