Lively Bude, a classic Cornish seaside town with varied shops and dining options, is 8 miles away. A charming combination of stonework and hand-formed plasterwork make up the traditional exterior. Inside, the ground floor has an open-plan kitchen/dining room, a comfortable lounge ideal for putting your feet up after a long walk, and the master bedroom with an en-suite shower/WC.

Upstairs, there's a generous-sized twin room with en-suite WC. Children will love the cosy pitched ceiling, cheerful pine furnishings and countryside views. There are three great beaches within 10 miles – Bude's sandy Summerleaze Beach, with a tidal pool for safe bathing; Widemouth Bay, with plenty of space for beach cricket; and dog-friendly Northcott Mouth, not often crowded.

South from Widemouth, inside the Widemouth Pentire Heritage Coast area, pretty Boscastle village is within 18 miles, and the ancient Gateway to Cornwall, Launceston, where there's a castle to conquer and a steam railway to ride, is 16 miles away.
