Hang up your coats and take off your boots after a long day out walking and head to the private hot tub to bubble away among stunning views.

Whether you're taking a nap in the sun on the patio lounger or you're off finding walking routes along the River Taw, everyone will find their own way to unwind here. The interiors have a delightful contemporary country-style feel with exposed stone walls and wood beams dotted throughout. The lounge is bright and airy during the day, but draw the curtains across the patio doors and light the wall-mounted gas fire in the evening and it becomes a cosy haven.

The pannier market is also worth a trip to pick up tasty local produce and souvenirs. The fantastic beach at Saunton Sands (11 miles) is ideal for novice surfers and paddling, while Westward Ho! (12 miles) is a popular spot for surfers, paddleboarders and walkers thanks to the Northam Burrows Country Park that backs onto the beach.
