Pet friendly holiday cottage, sleeps 6 - Carsington Water, Derbyshire

Bring your walking boots and your mountain bikes, try your hand at windsurfing, canoeing and fishing, or, for those who like dry land, push your limits on an 8-mile mountain bike course all on offer at nearby Carsington Water. You will also find an award-winning restaurant, a playground, shops, four bird hides, and miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore nearby. Make sure you visit pretty towns and villages such as Matlock Bath (5 miles), Ashbourne (7.5 miles), Bakewell (12.5 miles) and Buxton (21 miles), all of which boast an array of shops and restaurants, and head into the nearby market town of Wirksworth (2 miles) to enjoy the interesting architecture and local independent shops.

Step into the hallway and wander through to the country cottage-style kitchen/diner. At the heart is the traditional range cooker with original stone surround. There is also an electric cooker and hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

Come together around the nearby dining table and celebrate a special occasion or plan the day's activities ahead over a hearty breakfast. Across the hall is the lounge with the main feature being an inset circular fireplace housing a wood burner, perfect for lighting in the chilly months, alongside relaxing on the sofa with a good book or watching something on the TV. There is also a ground-floor shower room with a shower and WC.

Head up the stairs to the first floor where you will find a super-king-size bedroom a king-size bedroom and a snug sitting room with corner sofa, TV and Xbox. There is also a family bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Taking the stairs up to the second floor reaches another double bedroom and twin bedroom.

There is also a WC on this floor. Outside, an enclosed paved courtyard area lies to the front with seating, ideal for outdoor dining with a stone wall with box hedges and display borders stocked with cottage garden perennials.
