Whether you like horse riding, walking, swimming or water sports, there's something for you to do, plus new activities to try.

You'll be really close to the stunning Ullswater Lake, so evening paddles and afternoons skipping stones are all easily available. The property opens up directly into the lounge/diner. It's an airy, modern room with wood-panelled floors, so listen out for the tip-taps of your dog's paws.

There's comfortable seating around a flame-effect gas fire for cosy evenings, and the whole place feels relaxing and sociable. Continue through to the galley-style kitchen, where you can make tasty meals or pack picnics for big days out. The kitchen has doors leading to the bedrooms.

There's a spacious bedroom with a super-king-size bed, and then a twin room, ideal for children. Each bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. The bungalow has a patio with a seating area, surrounded by bushes, and further out there's a stretching lawn.

If you'd like to bring outdoor gear like bikes and canoes, storage space can be arranged ahead of your arrival. You'll be a convenient 500 metres from Ullswater, a beautiful 8-mile-long lake which is wonderful to walk around. Alternatively, Aira Force Waterfall is 3 miles away and well worth a visit.

Budding scientists and wildlife lovers should visit the Thornsgill Beck, Mosedale Beck and Wolf Crag Site of Special Scientific Interest, 8 miles away.
