Occupying an idyllic spot south-east of Windermere, this traditional cottage makes a fantastic holiday home for a family exploring this stunning part of the Lake District. Offering ample accommodation for six guests, this tranquil and secluded property enjoys spellbinding views across Cartmel Fell. The cottage is a fantastic base for keen walkers, mountain bikers and climbers, and provides a welcoming and relaxing retreat at the end of the day.

Beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated, the property has numerous original and imaginative features including exposed oak beams, a warming wood burner, window seats, wood panelling, stained glass, an old beehive barn and a handy games room. This traditional whitewashed cottage features a charming lounge full of character and atmosphere, providing a delightful spot for unwinding in. The stylish kitchen has a sociable and cosy dining area.

The games room features a snooker table and an assortment of board games. Stone stairs lead up to three tastefully decorated, richly furnished bedrooms. Heading outside, paths lead through the beautiful, landscaped grounds where you will find a tumbling beck, a small, unfenced pond and an old beehive barn which makes a lovely spot for taking in the surrounding vistas.

The cottage is a perfect base for exploring the local fells, quaint hamlets and beautiful woodlands, with the reservoir at Simpson Ground Tarn making a charming spot for a walk and a picnic (2 miles). Fell Foot is nearby, where the River Leven flows from the southern tip of Windermere (5.5 miles). Here you can take a trip on the Millerbeck Light Railway, cross the lake by ferry, take part in a range of water sports or visit the Lakeland Motor Museum.

Other landmarks and attractions include Sizergh Castle (10.5 miles), Holker Hall and Gardens (6.5 miles) and Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve (5 miles).
